ANZA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA'S
"THINGS TO THINK ABOUT DURING THE SUMMER"Hi Anza Families!
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful year! As we look forward to the summer, here are some things to think about:
- 2008-2009 Reflections Theme is "WOW!" Categories include visual arts, music composition, photography, literature, dance choreography, film/video production. Check out the Programs & Services section of the CA PTA website, http://www.capta.org/sections/programs/reflections.cfm, to view some past California entries. Our Anza Reflections kick-off will be in October.
- First Day Packets: We'll be collating First Day packets on Wednesday, August 27th from 9 am -12 pm. If you're able to help, even for just an hour or so, please contact Emi Morimoto at 310-543-2297 or emianzapta@aol.com.
- School starts on September 4th. Class lists will be posted by 6 pm on September 3rd. PTA will be providing ice cream for all the children!
- TUSD/Torrance Council PTA Phone Bank Nights: HELP!!! Each TUSD school has been asked to supply volunteers for phone bank nights in order to encourage voters to vote "yes" on two bond measures that will update & repair our schools. Anza's phone bank nights are 9/9, 9/21, 9/29, 10/7, 10/15, 10/23, & 10/27. Please contact our Bond representative, Kathleen Hagen, at 310-540-3300 or almbh@aol.com (put "Bond" in the subject line) if you'd like to help. More information will be posted on our website soon.
- Back-To-School Night is September 25th:
- 3rd-5th grades = 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
- PTA Association Mtg. = 6:45 pm - 7:15 pm
- K-2nd grades = 7:20 pm - 8:05 pm
- Upcoming student free days/holidays: 10/6, 11/10, 11/11, 11/26-11/28, 12/22-1/2
